From basic research to personalized medicine with organoids When: 13th of October, 09:00-13:00 Where: LA21 + ground floor areas, Labsenteret, Øya, Trondheim Register here Research into the development and use of organoids has accelerated in recent years, and they are now widely applied in biomedical research. Organoids can provide researchers with personalized disease models when derived from a patient's own diseased tissue; this allows for the observation of individual disease progression and the testing of drugs directly on the patient's own cells. Additionally, organoids can be used for the safe testing of new drugs (without the use of animal models), studies on human development, and infection research. As with other areas of biomedical research, the development and use of organoids will proceed in conjunction with other disciplines; technology and infrastructure are therefore key factors. The aim of this event is to bring together professionals working in research and infrastructure at NTNU, SINTEF, and St. Olavs Hospital – to gain an overview of organoid research in Trondheim and to foster new connections and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Program 09:00-09:05 Welcome .
